You have a "Tight Muscle" Your immediate thought is "Go Stretch It"

You might even stretch before a workout thinking you are doing the right thing for your body.

You believe you must do this day in and day out but only seem to gain temporary relief.

Have a think about everyday movements, our muscles are designed to contract and

lengthen in each and every move.

So you start stretching and then your muscles go straight back to being tight and achy

What you don't know is that these minor aches, pains and tightness have

created imbalances and bad movement patterns that will eventually lead to injury.

Problems that aren't corrected by the stretching.

The last thing you want to do when suffering with mild or severe pain is overstretch an already overstretched muscle. This causes more muscle imbalances, pelvic instability, trigger points to activate, and more back pain.

You need to know your exact muscle imbalances, which muscles are short, tight and weak,

before deciding which muscles to stretch.
